How Long Will My Vegetable Glycerine Bach Flower Remedies Last?

Vegetable Glycerine usually has a best before date of around two years, however, it can last longer, even years, if kept in a cool, dark place. So while we put the best before date of two years on the bottles, stored correctly your Bach Flower Remedies should last well beyond this date.

Are These Completely Alcohol Free Bach Flower Remedies?

Very nearly! The base preservative of these remedies is organic vegetable glycerine and we add to this two drops of mother tincture ( ten drops for the Revival Remedy combination ). Our mother tincture is half water and half brandy so each bottle does have a very, very small amount of brandy in.

The approximate alcohol content for each stock bottle is as follows:

10ml Bach Remedy: 0.2% ABV
25ml Bach Remedy: 0.07% ABV
25ml Revival Remedy: 0.36% ABV

*ABV = Alcohol by Volume ( for reference our normal Bach Flower Remedies are 23% ABV ).

So there is very little alcohol content in these remedies, however, if you are unable to take any alcohol whatsoever, please be aware of the above.

Dilution to Treatment Level

While Bach Flower Remedies can be used directly from stock level, they are more usually diluted down to make a treatment level combination. If you use the vegetable glycerine stock bottles in this way, the amount of alcohol in the treatment level combination would would be extremely small indeed.

How to Use Your Bach Flower Remedy

Our Bach Flower Remedies are supplied at stock level and can be used individually or combined with other Bach Remedies to create a personalised combination.

Using a Single Remedy: add two drops to a glass of water or make a treatment bottle by adding two drops to up to 30ml of spring water. You can also use the remedy directly from the stock bottle.

Creating Your Own Combination: choose up to eight Bach Flower Remedies and add two drops of each to a clean 30ml dropper bottle containing spring water and a little preservative (brandy, vegetable glycerin or apple cider vinegar are all godd options). If you're including Revival Remedy, add four drops of this combination.

Taking Your Remedies: for a treatment-level combination, our usual guidance is four drops on the tongue, six to eight times a day, taken regularly throughout the day.
